Get Involved.

The exams are written, reviewed and governed by practicing CAAs who volunteer their time. Here is how to join them.

Why volunteer

The exam is only as good as the CAAs who write it.

NCCAA depends on Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants who give their time as item writers, exam reviewers, standard-setting panelists and Commissioners. Volunteering keeps the certification grounded in real practice, and it keeps the Commission open to the profession it serves.

  • Formal training from NCCAA’s testing staff
  • Work alongside other subject-matter experts
  • Shape what future CAAs must know
  • Contribute a few days a year

Apply to volunteer.

To volunteer for exam development (item writing, exam review, standard setting or job analysis), email [email protected]. To apply for the Board of Commissioners, email [email protected].
